General description:

COPERACY project is build up from a multidisciplinary team that proposes a disruptive strategy to design novel cooperative catalysts able to convert light alcohols into the jetfuel range olefins with high efficiency and product selectivity under soft reaction conditions.

Our research goals:

COPERACY´s main goal is to develop cooperative catalytic systems able to transform light alcohols into jetfuel range olefins when operated at soft capillary condensation conditions. This goal can be achieved through:

  1. The development of bioinspired-like catalysts for alcohol to jet-fuels transformation into robust Metal-Organic Framework porous materials.
  2. The optimization of catalytic reactions under flow conditions in order to produce biofuels within liquid-gas interface via controlled capillary condensation conditions.

Our network:

The interdisciplinary cooperation between Basque Center for Materials, Applications & Nanostructures (BCMaterials) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) will be key in order to accomplish the ambitious objectives of COPERACY action. The consortium holds all the necessary inter and multidisciplinary expertise to explore all the steps of the value chain until the development of a highly adaptable catalysts technology that could be easily re-engineered to the main needs within the transition to a green and circular economy model.
